In spite of a very difficult year in many ways and a later start to being able to organise the event , the Poppy Appeal in Hornchurch has been very successful. Nearly £48,000 has been raised so far and the total is still rising . This is all thanks to the generosity of the volunteers who have given freely of their valuable time and to the residents of Hornchurch who have so kindly supported the appeal with their donations .
