Glass Recycling Bins in Sainsbury’s

The recycling bins were removed from Sainsbury’s car park about a month ago.

At that stage I made some enquiries and was told that the bins would be ‘replaced in the next couple of weeks’

Time has passed and no sign of the bins.

I contacted Sainsbury’s again and received the following email

‘Good afternoon,

Sainsbury’s have changed the provider for the recycling services nationally and due to the volume of this change the new supplier has struggled to meet the demand of the initial roll out.  This has unfortunately led to a delay between the old supplier uplifting the units and with the new units being installed.  I do not have a guaranteed date as of yet but am hopeful that by the end of April the units will be installed at our store.  I have been chasing this with our Recycling Team at the Centre and this is unfortunately not just an individual store issue but will be resolved to everyone’s satisfaction in due course.

Kind regards’

Fingers crossed – the bins should be replaced by the  end of April

  1. Many people are doing the right thing and recycling but the bins need to be doubled or even triple as there are bottles everywhere
