Gerpins Lane Tip – my experience

Having heard the nightmares people were having with queues at the Gerpins Lane tip (mostly queuing times) I had left it a few weeks before I attempted ‘a dump run’

For those of you approaching from Hornchurch along Hacton Lane you should know that the ‘Top End’ of Gerpins Lane is currently closed to traffic entering.

The entrance to the Recycling Centre is signposted with Diversion Markers – it is roughly 1KM further down the road, the signposts take you right into Warwick Lane, and then a further 700M you take another (signposted) right into Gerpins Lane (if you reach Berwick Pond Road you have gone too far)

When I went (Tuesday at noon, 2/6/20) I queued for about 30-40 mins to get in.

You enter through what was the EXIT – Please have your ID ready to show the gate keeper.

Now go around the recycling centre the ‘wrong way around’ – your first stop is the Non Recyclables, next is the Green and Garden waste followed by the TV’s, Cardboard, Small Electricals, hard plastics etc.

Please consider how you stack your car or van, you will not be able drive around internally and join the queue
