Fielders Field – Children’s Play Area

A new Play and Teaching area has been set up in Fielders Field  – for those who do not know where this is, you can access Fielders Field through Cromer Road, Boscombe Avenue and through the rear of Langtons Gardens.
Fielders Field was once part of the Langton Estate but was bought by Mr Fielder in the early 1920’s and was given to the people of Hornchurch to encourage sport.

There is a covenant in place to protect the land from building.

As part of the Lottery Fund money given to help revamp both Langtons Gardens and Fielders Field the play and teaching area has been created to encourage the use of the field by families and children

Signposts explain a little about the area and the climbing frames, swings and slides are for all children to play on.

Please note, Fielders Field has cricket played regularly by the Hornchurch Cricket club at weekends and some weekdays.  All visitors are welcome.

  1. Excellent idea to erect the children’s play area on Fielders Field. The only down side is the canvas canopy which split due to the weight of water following heavy rain. This may need further thought in the future.
