Fake NHS Covid-19 PCR text
Scammers have been impersonating the NHS and sending texts claiming that the recipient has been in close contact with someone with Covid-19 and demanding they order a PCR test. The aim of this is to steal your personal data and bank details.
Here are some examples we’ve received, and advice on how to spot and report a NHS scam.
Energy bill scam
A member of the public received an email purporting to be from a debt recovery company. It claimed that they still owed money to their energy supplier, which had stopped trading in 2019, and requested payment via bank transfer.
