Parking Permits to go Virtual

Parking permits to go virtual

Havering council are introducing a new virtual parking permit system that they say will be simpler to use, as part of the Council’s corporate plan for more digital improvements to services in the borough. They also say that those residents who do not have access to a computer or smart phone will get support, but they have not provided any information.

The online system means that paper permits will no longer need to be displayed in vehicles, because they can be identified by a registration number plate scanner. All new permits will be active from the moment they are paid for.

All parking permits will be updated to the new system when they next need to be renewed.

All existing paper permits will remain valid until their date of expiry.
