Salvation Army – Christmas Appeal

We have been approached by the Salvation Army to help publicise their annual Christmas Appeal.

The Appeal raises money each year for the cared for children and families in need in Havering.

Each year the Salvation Army (based in Romford) distribute gifts through the social workers and community services in the borough.

In previous years they have been fortunate to have members of the public who with kindness have donated gifts to the appeal at their shop and church/community centre.  Last year they provided 25 hampers for families and over 300 gifts for children. Unfortunately this year with the restrictions in place both these sites are currently closed and therefore they are not able to take such donations and believe donations may be considerably affected.

This year the need may well be greater than in previous and the Salvation Army wishes to be able to still facilitate the appeal, but in a safe way. They have therefore set up a just giving page for the appeal, any donations made will be used to purchase gifts and hampers for those in need.

We would appreciate it if you would be able to circulate these details to any of your contacts and via any social media you may have that would help them to provide gifts for the appeal.
