Yesterday I was invited to the launch of a monthly singing group at HASWA which was organised by a charity called “Goldies”.
www.golden-oldies.org.uk – the founder is Grenville Jones and the Patron is Cliff Richards. They took an advert in the Recorder
to publicise this recently. The session was led by Rob Cadman and future sessions will be led by Lisa from HASWA.
I was so pleased that approx 60 people attended and sang songs from song books which are provided by the charity. It was
joyous and great fun and people were all up dancing at the end.
You don’t have to be able to sing and it isn’t a choir – the sessions are designed to make a positive difference to people
some of which may be lonely or vulnerable. Goldies are in partnership with the Mercers Company and we were pleased to
welcome David Terrace who is the Grants Programme Manager. 02077767239
The Mayor, Col Bryant Markham and Mrs Enid Markham were also invited.
The next session is on Monday 13 January 2020.
