Broken paving slabs

Broken Paving Slabs:  I recently went out with an officer to inspect broken paving slabs in Broadhurst Walk, Tuck Road, Ullswater Way and Langdale Gardens.  Now you probably won’t like what I am going to say, but apparently however ugly they may look, broken paving slabs are not replaced unless they are a tripping hazard.  Tripping hazards are deemed to be 25mm, so unfortunately you are not going to see much change.  Where tree roots cause the damage the paving slabs are removed and replaced with black surfacing.

The inspection cover in Broadhurst Walk is certainly a tripping hazard and also the one in Digby Walk, both have been highlighted for repair.
